Open Scan Technologies to Distribute DocuTran,
AutoEncode
< Back
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., August 5, 2002 --
Tangent Systems Inc. today announced that Open Scan Technologies
Inc. has become a distributor of Tangent's DocuTran® software.
Open Scan will concentrate
on selling Tangent's popular new AutoEncode™ feature,
which seamlessly integrates check encoding and clearing
to any payment or forms solution.
The agreement allows Open Scan to resell the
AutoEncode software as part of its standard offering, thus
providing a complete solution that includes the preparation
of checks for deposit.
"Open Scan's exception mail processing system
has changed the way people think about exception and white
mail," said Steve Mack, president of Tangent Systems. "We
are pleased to play a part in Open Scan's 'exceptions revolution.'
We have been jointly installing systems with Open Scan for
four years, and this is a natural extension of our relationship."
Nadine Lange, president of
Open Scan Technologies, said, "Now AutoEncode is an option
available to Open Scan customers under their existing license
agreements. With Open Scan providing AutoEncode as a standard
part of their solution, customers will receive the maximum
return on their investments while gaining more control
over their cash."
AutoEncode is currently in production in conjunction
with Open Scan solutions at four locations, and a number
of pending installations will come on line in the next few
months.
AutoEncode uses the same technology as Tangent's
proven and reliable DocuTran II transaction and document
processing solution. The seamless integration between Open
Scan's mail scanning solution and AutoEncode's automated
check encoding and clearing provides customers the benefit
of improved check encoding accuracy, tighter financial control,
enhanced productivity and easier returned-check research.
AutoEncode runs on all major transports, including those
from BancTec, CTS, Fuji, NCR, Panini, SEAC and Unisys.
Under the agreement, Tangent Systems also will offer Open
Scan's exception handling solutions to current DocuTran users.
"Tangent customers also can benefit from this relationship
with improved efficiency in handling exception work," Mack
said.
